On September 13, 2016, iNAGO participates in the 1st Annual Auto Tech Symposium at the University of Waterloo.
As part of the Symposium, iNAGO shows how its Safe Driver Notification (SDN) technology makes interacting with connected content and services on the go safer and smarter.
Intelligent, conversational digital assistants in the car can provide drivers with verbal access to the information they need, while keeping the driver’s eyes on the road. SDN goes a step further and makes these interactions even more safe – a significant concern given the current epidemic of distracted driving.
SDN understands that there are times when it is best to stay silent. For example, when the driver is driving through a snowstorm and merging onto the freeway, they shouldn’t be distracted by a notification about an incoming email. SDN determines how much mental effort the driver is using (the “cognitive workload”) and understands when it is safe to interact with the driver, and when it would be distracting to do so.
SDN technology was developed in conjunction with Vocalage, a high-tech research and consulting firm spun off from the University of Toronto. iNAGO and Vocalage are now working with technology partners to bring their SDN research into the car by developing joint proofs-of-concept.
Auto Tech Symposium Event Details:
The Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association (APMA) and Waterloo Region Economic Development Corporation (WREDC), in partnership with the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA), are working together to connect new and existing automotive technology companies with automotive decisionmakers in the areas of autonomous vehicle technology, software, occupant and vehicle safety, and “greening”.
